I don’t have much to consider this week, other than a few thoughts on blogs. Yes, I know this is a blog. Read this with a grain of salt.
When your world rises and falls on how popular—and controversial—your post is, you might be doing it wrong. To be sure, you aren’t doing it wrong by the world’s standards. By those standards you are doing everything right to achieve “success.” But by Christian standards, aka God’s standards? Yeah, you might want to try again. Garnering the praises of the usual suspects does not a mean a blog post is wise or even biblical.
Let’s just settle on this point: Constant controversy makes people angry, bitter, and unpleasant. Living as Jesus lived (trying to, anyway) and teaching as He taught and loving as He loved is a far more edifying way to pass our time. Agree? I hope so.
With that, let’s dive into another April week in review (kind of):
- Wow, that’s a lot of sheep.
- Did you watch Prince Philip’s funeral last weekend?
- Here’s your weekly dose of adorable.
- Trust no baked good.
- I’m pretty sure my cat would’ve done the same thing.
- How can we rejoice even when times are tough?
Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is. And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself just as he is pure.1 John 3:2-3 (CSB)
